REQUIREMENTS

Hosting requirements

• PHP v. 5.2+
• MySQL 5+
• Apache

Upload file to server

INSTALLATION

With these requirements met, and files are uploaded, we are ready to install PageFlex.
Now please access the PageFlex installation through your web browser by entering the address of your site, for example http://www.example.com. 

Step 1

In this initial step, please check if following folders are writiable or not:

• config
• uploads
• tmp

If they are not writiable, please change the permission.

Step 2

In this step, please input all needed information of your PageFlex website:

• MySQL Hostname
• MySQL Username
• MySQL Password
• MySQL Database
• Site Name
• Admin Email
• Admin Username
• Password
• Re-enter Password

Step 3

PageFlex is now installed! You must remove the installation directory, this needs to be removed for security reasons to prevent anyone else from coming along and reinstalling PageFlex over your existing site.

After the installation, in order to see all plugins with demo data, you can install Demo Data with following steps:

Step 1: Login to administration page.

Step 2: Go to Demo Data plugin:

Step 4: Refresh the page:

After installation of demo data is finished, you will see the notification in the bottom of the page:

After that, please refresh the page, all plugins with their demo data will be shown:

Now, have fun with PageFlex.

Signing in

Admin Page

• With your fresh installation, many plugins are not actived yet. You can install Demo Data or Active them manually in Plugins.
• You can order admin menu by clicking on the moving icon and drag menu item wherever you like.

Dashboard is the default page when you login backend site.

There are 4 parts in Dashboard:

• Quick links: which link to some important page of PageFlex:
  • Comments
  • Users
  • Posts
  • Pages
• Latest Unpublished Comments: you can view or publish all comments here.
• Latest Unpublished Posts: you can view or publish all posts here
• My calendar: this feature help you to create your own event calendar. Each user will have his/her own calendar.

When you create a new page, there are some fields which need to pay attention:

• URL: URL will be created automatically based on Page title, however you can change it to different one.
• Layout: Please choose page layout which listed in Layouts.
• Page Type: PageFlex has 2 types of page:
  • Default: will have main menu and footer
  • Landing page: will not have main menu and footer

At the moment, we have only one System Page. It's user page.
System page can not be seen in Page Management, so you can not change it.

If you want to change its layout, please change System Layout in Layout Management.

Post in an administrative plugin of PageFlex. It consists of 2 parts:

• Post
• Post category

When you create a new post, there are some fields which need to pay attention:

• Category: a post must be belonged to a category.
• Published date: the day this post will be published
• Unpublished date: the day this post will be unpublished
• Thumbnail: an image which will be shown in post list (not in post details)
• Content: by using editor, you can add image or change any format in post.
• Tags: You are allowed to use tags and you can add multiple tags at once. Each tag separated by a comma.

Post settings

There are some settings for user which you can find in Configuration -> Settings -> Post settings:

• Enable comment: you can decide to use comment in post or not.
• Ordering: you can choose which post ordering is suitable for you.
• Maximum number of tags: you can define maximum number of tags here.
• Length of description: this is the length of post description which shown on post list. The default value is 255 characters.
• Post listing page: you can choose post listing page here. However, it's better not to change this option. 
• Post detail page: you can choose post detail page here. However, it's better not to change this option. 
• Show post title on URL: you can decide to show post title on URL or not
• Show category name on URL: you can decide to show category title on URL or not
• Show tag name on URL: you can decide to show tag name on URL or not

Post listing themes

PageFlex provides 4 types of post listings:

• Default
• Full-width
• Timeline
  • Timeline on the left
  • Timeline in the middle
  • Timeline on the right
• Columns (you can choose number of colums)

Roles

In PageFlex, we define 5 roles:

• Administrator: who has access to all post features
• Editor: can publish and manage posts including the posts of other users
• Author: can publish and manage their own posts
• Contributer: can write and manage their own posts but cannot publish them
• User: (on frontent) can read post only.

Widget

• Post Category: this widget will list all post categories.
• Posts List: this widet will show most viewed or new posts. You can choose number of post to display.

You can add this widget to layout in Theme Management.

Here are some parametters which you can change in shortcode:

• title: [get:title] -> Title of the post. Title will be used for searching.
• author: int | [type:key] -> List post by author (user-id)
• category: int | [type:key] -> List post by category
• tag: int | [type:key] -> List post by tag
• pagination: true | false | [type:key] -> Pagination or not
• pagination_position: top | bottom | [type:key] -> Position of Pagination 
• page: [get:key] -> current page
• order_field: string | [type:key]  -> ordering by which field of post (author, created-date...)
• order_type: desc | asc | [type:key] -> descending or ascending ordering
• display_tag: true|false -> tag will be shown or not
• display_comment: true|false -> display number of comment or not
• theme: you can choose type of post listing here

Page detail shortcode:

Encourage interaction with visitors to your site by allowing comments to your pages and blog posts. Comments can be quickly reviewed and approved on your CMS Dashboard or Comment Management.

Comments can be shown anywhere by using shortcode.

Here is comment management page:

On this page you can:

• Publish/Unpublish comments
• Edit comments
• Delete comments

You also can publish comments on Dashboard.

Comment settings

There are some settings for user which you can find in Configuration -> Settings -> Comments settings:

• Enable comment: you can enable/disable comment for the whole website here.
• Comment approval: If Yes, users who have administrator and editor roles will publish comments. 
• Ordering: you can choose which comment ordering is suitable for you.
• Who will approve comment: you can decide who can publish comments (among administrators and editors). If a admin or editor has the right to approve, his comment will not be moderated in frontend.
• Maximum characters: this is the length of comment. The default value is 255 characters.

Email templates

If you enable Comment Approval, an email will be sent to approver everytime there is a new comment.
And you can edit this email content in Configuration -> Email templates -> Comment.

Shortcode

You can add comment in any page by adding following shortcode:

{pf:comment key=xxxx}

xxxx is the key defined by you and it should be different in each comment shortcode. Example:

{pf:comment key=portfolio-page}

Note: In Post, we add comment shortcode by default. If you don't want comment in post, please disable it in Post Settings.

With the Portfolio plugin you can create a unique page for displaying portfolio items consisting of images and additional information. Moreover you can add as many custom fields as you like.

Portfolio consists of 2 parts:

• Portfolio
• Portfolio category

Widget

On gallery widget, you can choose one of following displaying options:

• All images
• Random gallery
• A particular gallery

Announcement is a administrative plugin.
This plugin is used by Admin only.
With this plugin, Admin can create announcement which will be shown to a group of user or a specific user.

While creating an announcement, you can choose following parameters:

• Publish date: is the date when the announcement will be published. If you leave this field blank, the announcement will be published immediately.
• Unpublish date: is the date when the announcement will be unpublished. If you leave this field blank, the announcement will never be unpublished immediately.
• Type: you can choose the type of announcement. There are 4 types:
  • Danger
  • Info
  • Warning
  • Success
• Announce to group: you can choose announcement's audience here. You can choose announcement to show to ALL, a group of user or a specify user.

A structured FAQ module which can be added and styled into your site in minutes.
In FAQ Management, you can create as many FAQ as you like. Each FAQ can have many items.

Shortcode

PageFlex Contact Forms is an interesting feature. With the PageFlex contact form, you can generate any kind of web form, which will be validated automatically and either sent via e-mail.

The Media Manager is the tool for easily managing media files or folders and you can configure the MIME type settings to handle any type of file. The Media Manager is integrated into the Article Editor tool so you can grab images and other files at any time.

PageFlex uses Responsive File Manager version 9.6.0 which is very easy to use.
Thank you Mr. Alberto Peripolli for allowing us to use his awesome File Manager in this CMS.

Comment settings

There are some settings for user which you can find in Configuration -> Settings -> Media settings:

This plugin allows administrator to manage testimonials to add them to the sidebar, as a widget, or to embed them into a Page or Post using the shortcode.  Testimonials Plugin allows you to include an image with each testimonial - this is a great feature for adding a photo of the testimonial author

Widget

You can add Testimonial Widget in Layout or in Footer.
This widget will show all testimonails.

Menu is an administrative plugin (which you can not deactive). 
The Menu Manager allows you to create as many menus and menu items as you need. You can structure your menu hierarchy (and nested menu items) completely independent of your content structure.

While creating a menu, you can choose to add 2 types of menu items:

• Page: which you will choose from your created page
• Link: you will have to type the URL of your link

With a menu item, you can:

• Publish/Unpublish by clicking on green button
• Edit by clicking on blue button
• Delete by clicking on red button
• Order by clicking on item, holding left click and drag it to anywhere. PageFlex support 12 levels of menu.
   

Menu style

Within a menu item, you can add following styles:

• Options: you can add some sub-fix like #example | ?example | &axample ... This feature will be helpful with one-page design.
• Icons: you can add awesome icon or image on your menu.
• Description: you can add a short description below you menu.

Shortcode:

Menu can be added anywhere in PageFlex. You can do that by pasting its shortcode.
The format of Menu Shortcode is:

{pf:menu id=xxxxxx}

xxxxxx is menu id which will be generated automatically.

Menu can be vertical or horizontal, by default, menu will be horizontal. 
If you want to use vertical, you can add type to shortcode:

{pf:menu id=xxxxxx type=vertical}

  • Add user

  • Delete user
  • Active/Inactive user
  • Update profile
• Frontent:
  • Sign up
  • Sign in
  • Get forgot password

User settings

There are some settings for user which you can find in Configuration -> Settings -> Users settings:

• Allow Registration: If No, guest can not sign up to be user anymore. However, you still can add user in backend.
• Enable Activation: If Yes, an email with activation link will be send to user. 
• Username minimum length: Minimum length of username
• Password minimum length: Minimum length of password
• Login attemps: you can define number of login attemps here. If users login incorrectly over this number, they will not able to login in 30 minutes.
• Activation link exists in: you can define how long activation link exist.

Email templates

In user management, there are some emails will be sent to users:

• Activation
• Welcome
• Password Reset
• Password Reset Success

You can change all of these mail contents in Configuration -> Email templates -> User.

Roles

In PageFlex, we define 5 roles:

• Administrator: who has access to all the administration features
• Editor: can publish and manage posts including the posts of other users
• Author: can publish and manage their own posts
• Contributer: can write and manage their own posts but cannot publish them
• User: (on frontent) can only manage their profile

and each role can access some plugins corresponding to its role only.

Widget

Note: when you deactive a plugin, all its data will be removed also. So, please be careful.

The flexible structure of PageFlex will help you to install or config themes easily. Each theme can have its own options which help you change the style of theme instantly.

Themes

At the moment, we have only one theme "Aphrodite". More theme will be added very soon.
"Aphrodite" theme is based on Mist.
Thank you Mr. YevSim for allowing us to use his theme in this CMS.

Theme Options

Each theme in PageFlex will have various options which help you to change the basic design of theme easily.
You can change following things:

• Logo: you can choose text or image logo
• Background: you can choose color or image background or both
• Colors: you can choose color for:
  • Navigation
  • Title
  • Content
  • Link
• Navigation: it's the style of main-menu, you can change its font and color here.
• Fonts: with this option, you can choose basic fonts or google fonts and their size for:
  • Body
  • Navigation
  • Title
  • Content
• Footer: All of footer style can be customized here.
• Bottom content: You can change their contents, font, color here.

Layouts

In Layouts, you create as many layout as you like.
Layouts will be used for Page. 
Each Page will use a particular layout.
Each layout can have many widgets. Drag&drop feature will help you create layouts easily.

PageFlex provides 4 layout patterns:

• One column - main content is on the whole page
• 2 columns - main content is on left hand side
• 2 columns - main content is on right hand side
• 3 columns - main content is in the middle
   

You can create a layout based on about pattern and many widgets into it:

Note:

• You can add widgets to layout by choosing a widget and drop it to blue area.
• The System Layout is used for system page (User)

Widgets

In widgets management, you can active or deactive any widgets.
Note: when you deactive a widget, it will not be shown in all layouts. So, please be careful.

PageFlex has 7 types of widget:

• User Profile: this widget will show SignIn/SignUp links, or display profile of signed in user.
• Galleries: this widget will show images from a particular gallery, a random gallery or all galleries.
• Testimonials: this widget show all testimonials.
• Post Category: this widget will list all post categories.
• Posts List: this widet will show most viewed or new posts. You can choose number of post to display.
• Menu: in this widget, you can choose which menu and how it will be displayed.
• Text: this widget will help you add any text.

Footer

Footer will be used in all layouts. It means your modification in footer will be affected on all pages.

In Footer, you can also use widgets like layouts.

Email Templates

The feature applies a HTML template to email sent from your website. The Template is applied for Users and Comments Plugins

Backup/Restore

The Backup/Restore feature ensures the proper backup of data from inside of PageFlex CMS. This feature provides immediate backup of your website database.

In this feature, you can do following actions:

• Backup database
• Restore database from file
• Download database file
• Delete database file

Note: The default backup folder is /tmp/backup/. Please make that folder writable.

• Shortcode Plugins: each plugin will have its own shortcode:

  • Rating: {pf:rating key='your-key'}

PageFlex Shortcode is very flexible so you can create page with any shortcode as you like.

Rating is a plugin which help user to rate any content of PageFlex.
Rating is added in Post by default.

However, you can add Raing in any page by using shortcode:

{pf:rating key='your-key'}

After installation is finished, config.php will be created (in /your-website/configs/)

This file stores your database connection information and some other setting.

We recommend you not to change anything on config.php. However, there are 2 settings which you may need to use:

• Debug: if you want to debug website, you can change here.

• Mod_rewrite: if you use a server which does not support .htaccess, you can disable mod_rewrite here.

This plugin will provide you the demo data which is shown in our demo website.

There are 2 important warnings:

• If your activated plugins have any data, they will be replaced by our demo data.
• Inactive plugins will be activated and imported with demo data.
